NORDMILCH eG (eG standing for “eingetragene Genossenschaft”) is a registered cooperative. It is owned by around 8,000 or so farmers (at the time of the 2008 annual report) and nine dairies in northern Germany. They and their milk production are the cornerstone of the company's work over an area that covers the whole of Northern Germany.
The Board of NORDMILCH eG, whose members hold office on a voluntary basis, acts as an interface between the agricultural grass roots and the full-time management. The five members of the eG Board are farmers themselves, and are familiar with the milk producers’ interests from personal experience. The Management Board’s actions are monitored by the Supervisory Board.
Max-Helmut Kirst, (Chairman), Schleswig-Holstein region
Henner Pape, (Deputy Chairman), Hanover / Southern Lower Saxony region
Reiner Lübben, Weser-Ems region
Thomas Stürtz, Elbe-Weser region

The membership’s decision-making body is the annual Representatives’ Assembly. In addition, an Advisory Board made up of members of the cooperative supports NORDMILCH eG, NORDMILCH AG and the Supervisory Board with advice. The Advisory Board is made up of two to three elected milk producers for each district. This Board has no decision-making powers, these are reserved for the Supervisory Board.
